Creative Capital Weekend Retreat for Artists - March 25-27, 2011
The Office of Cultural Development/Division of the Arts will partner with the Creative Capital Foundation to present a Professional Development Weekend workshop for 24 selected Louisiana artists in strategic planning, funding and promoting your work. This Professional Development opportunity is designed to deliver skill-building tools to individual artists. The goal is to provide a cohesive structure that will help artists to organize, plan, and sustain their creative careers.

The Louisiana Office of Cultural Development/Division of the Arts is partnering with the LSU College of Art + Design to develop intensive professional development workshops for visual artists in Louisiana. We are seeking applications for our pilot workshop, scheduled on Saturday, December 11, 2010, from 8:30am - 2:00pm. The day-long workshop will take place at the LSU Campus, in Baton Rouge, in the Commons (ground floor), of the Art + Design Building.
The workshop is limited to 10 participants. Applications will be reviewed, and selected based on evidence of professional activity as reflected in the artist resume and on need and impact of the training on the artist's career. Application and more information available here.
Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation Announces the 2010 Economic Opportunity Fund Grant Round Grant Period: November 1, 2010 - August 1, 2011 - Deadline for grant application is Friday, October 1 at 5:00 pm, The Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation (LCEF) Economic Opportunity Fund encourages entrepreneurial risk, innovation and economic growth for Louisiana’s cultural economy. Grants are awarded for opportunities that are unique and that earn income or revenue for the applicant. The cultural economy is comprised of Louisiana’s art, music, food, film, architecture and other cultural industries. Since 2006, the LCEF has awarded almost $2 million in grants to support the recovery and continued growth of the state’s cultural economy. Call to Artists - Creative Capital Internet for Artists Professional Development Weekend Retreat The Division of the Arts is pleased to partner with the Creative Capital Foundation, the Louisiana Partnership for the Arts, and the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge to present a Professional Development Weekend Retreat designed to help Louisiana artists further their professional skills. The retreat will take place at the Shaw Center for the Arts in Baton Rouge Friday, September 24 - Sunday, September 26, 2010. Twenty four artists will be selected to participate.
