Richard Guidry (1949-2008) was a native French speaker from Vermilion Parish, a co-editor of the Dictionary of Louisiana French, and an ardent supporter of Louisiana’s heritage languages. The Richard Guidry Cajun & Creole Language Fund, created in his honor, supports projects that promote these languages in our state.
