Comments:	1331 Deslonde Street (owned by my grandparents) is, if not the first, one of the first homes built on this street...over 60 years ago. The lot next door at 1323 Deslonde St. was a rooming house (the front was the "main house" lived in by the owner-my great grandmother, the back was several individual rooms that shared a common living area & kitchen) for laborers and was later turned into individual apartments. The homes ares indicative of the shotgun/camel back homes of New Orleans. The 9th ward was just undeveloped real estate at the time & these homes were part of the first development in this area.
