Thank you for sharing this piece of Louisiana archaeology with your students!

Due to Covid-19, we modified the contents and packaging of our traveling trunks in accordance with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training.  Teaching kits contain 3D printed replicas of a selection of the materials included in the regular kits.  All associated lessons and videos are now online, below.  Printed posters and the pump drill are not included at this time.

We sanitize the 3D prints using Lysol before shipping and upon receipt at our office.  We ship the 3D prints in a padded envelope.  As always, we pay to ship the artifacts to you.  However, we ask that you purchase a separate padded envelope and pay the postage associated with returning the artifacts.  The cost should be much lower than in the past due to the decreased weight of the package.

You MUST complete the  Poverty Point Artifact Checklist when you receive the artifacts AND when you return them.  Please download and complete half of the form upon the kit’s arrival and the other half when you return it.  You may also email the completed document to archaeology@crt.la.gov.

Please send feedback following your experience through our online Traveling Trunk Review Form or the  Traveling Trunk Review Form.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact archaeology@crt.la.gov.

Thank you for your continued interest in Louisiana’s archaeology!
